Comprehensive eye exams are an important part of maintaining great vision and eye health for the entire family.

During your eye exam, your eye doctor will check for any refractive errors or visual skill deficiencies that may hinder development or learning, and diagnose, manage, and treat eye diseases and conditions, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy or macular degeneration that can cause severe vision loss in adults.

What to Expect From Your Eye Exam

    We'll provide you with an updated prescription so that you can see clearly. Some people require a new prescription every year, whereas others only need a new prescription every 2-3 years.

1/18/2024 Best place I’ve been to ever! Myriam greeted me and was very friendly, Eric was the one ... who started my appointment and was very nice and cordial very sweet. Ruby started the actual exam and while they were short staffed they work very well together. Mark took over so Ruby didn’t neglect another patient. And back to Myriam for payment when all is said and done. But y’all when I say I will officially recommend ANYONE to go here. I got my prescription updated just ever so slightly but man what a better experience than past appts. These last people are amazing and friendly and incredibly helpful.

I’d like to thank Practice Manager Monica & Assistant Manager Mark. For helping me select the perf... ect set of Tom Ford sunglasses! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Mark. He was professional , friendly and was eager to answer any questions I had. Practice Manager Monica assisted me in selecting my frames. I must have tried on the entire stock! Went in today for the first time, since my last eye doctor retired. Boy! What a great experience!!... ! The staff was courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely kind! I didn't even have to wait that long to be seen. I would say at best within 5 minutes of completing my new patient papers. The doctor was extremely sweet, knowledgeable, and kind as well!! I had my appointment late in the afternoon (4:20). I arrived early and since it was almost empty i ... went in almost right after i finished all my paperwork. The ladies that did the first part of the appointment were professional and courteous. And Dr. FAULKNER, was very nice, I've never had an eye exam where i felt the Dr. Was really paying attention and listening to my concerns. He was thorough and he explained everything. I had good experiences since i called to make the appointment.

I have recommended this place to many of my friends and family. Dr. Goff has been wonderful with my ... family. My mother was just seen and she explained everything to the fullest about what we needed to do. She was very detailed ! She had the office staff call the retina specialist and schedule for us and check to see if they accepted our insurance. Thank you for always making it a pleasant experience.

Everyone is so friendly! Dr. Faulkner is thorough and does an excellent job with examinations. The r... est of his staff is great too. They really treat you like a patient here, rather than just a number. Mariah is so patient and friendly. She enthusiastically helped us for over 45 minutes while we indecisively picked out our new glasses.

Comprehensive Eye Exams FAQs

Is a comprehensive eye exam the same as a vision screening?

No. Vision screenings like the one performed for children in school or at optical-only stores only check for 20/20 vision. They do not check for the presence of sight-threatening eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration or cataracts. They also do not check for visual skill deficiencies such as problems with visual tracking or processing. Comprehensive eye exams are more thorough and use advanced equipment to evaluate your vision and eye health.

How often should I get an eye exam?

Eye doctors usually recommend that you come in for a comprehensive eye exam at least once a year. This ensures that your glasses or contact lens prescription stays up to date and that signs and symptoms of developing eye conditions are caught early before they cause lasting damage.

When should I bring my child in for their first comprehensive eye exam?

A child’s first eye exam should take place at age 6 months. It’s important not to delay eye exams for young infants and children as some early eye problems can affect vision for life.
